Overview
The Kedarkantha trek, often celebrated as the “Queen of Winter Treks,” is a captivating journey that blends the serene beauty of the Himalayas with the thrill of adventure. Starting from the picturesque village of Sankri, trekkers are welcomed with a glimpse into the simple yet vibrant life of the locals.
As the trail unfolds, the charm of Juda ka Talab, especially in winter when it turns into a frozen wonderland, leaves an indelible impression. This enchanting lake, steeped in mythology, adds a mystical aura to the experience.

The trek culminates at the Kedarkantha summit, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of iconic Himalayan peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, Black Peak, and Draupadi ka Danda. From the summit, trekkers are also treated to panoramic vistas of the Har Ki Doon Valley, Rupin Valley, and the distant Gangotri and Yamunotri mountain ranges.
What sets this trek apart is its varied yet beginner-friendly terrain, making it an ideal choice for first-time trekkers. Additionally, the journey takes you into a no-network zone beyond Sankri, providing a rare opportunity to disconnect from technology and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature.
Kedarkantha is more than just a trek; it’s an invitation to reconnect with yourself while reveling in the untouched beauty of the Himalayas.
